Our team is only as happy as our customers, so if you cannot find the answer to your questions here, please feel free to contact us. Below, you will find questions and answers regarding involvement in an accident, payments and warranties, and general info.
INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT
1) WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR BILL?
The vehicle owner is. The insurance company has a legal obligation to their insured to pay for the repairs. Generally, you will pay the deductible and the insurance company will pay the rest to you unless you specifically notify your insurance comapny that you want them to pay the body shop directly. If you choose that option, you will need to sign a “Direction to Pay” form, which gives authorization to the insurance company to pay us directly
2) HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY CAR IS DONE?
About a day in advance you will be notified on your vehicle’s pick up status. Feel free to call or e-mail your advisor during the repair process if you have questions or concerns.
3) HOW LONG WILL MY CAR BE IN THE SHOP?
We are able to give you a target completion date at the time that you drop off your vehicle with us. A few days after, we will be able to update you to either confirm or adjust that target date accordingly. The target completion date will be given to you once the parts are ordered and we know that they will be delivered promptly. If necessary, we will have also called the insurance company to declare any additional damages.
4) HOW SOON CAN I LEAVE MY VEHICLE FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED?
We will always offer you the earliest appointment available; however, if your vehicle is undrivable then you may be able to leave it immediately
5) DO I HAVE TO GO WHERE THE INSURANCE COMPANY DIRECTS ME?
No. It is your legal right to do business with the shop of your choice. Your insurance company may recommend a shop, but ultimately the choice of a repair facility is up to you. It is illegal for an insurance company to force you to get an estimate from a certain shop or to have your vehicle repaired by a certain repair facility.
6) HOW MANY ESTIMATES DO I NEED TO GET?
None. There is no law that requires this. It is the insurance company’s obligation to adjust your claim fairly. If you leave your vehicle with us, we will supervise the insurance appraiser and make sure they write a fair estimate
7) DO YOU OFFER CAR RENTAL REFERRAL SERVICE?
Yes. We can make arrangements with a local rental car company to meet you at our facility. Our preferred car rental provider is Enterprise Rent a Car®. If you have rental car coverage the rental company should be able to set up a direct billing with your insurance company unless your policy states otherwise.
8) I’VE NEVER NEEDED COLLISION REPAIR BEFORE. CAN YOU BRIEFLY EXPLAIN THE CLAIMS PROCESS?
When you contact your insurance company (or the other drivers insurance company) they will ask you to explain what happened. When that is complete, ask them for a claim number. When you come into our shop, we will use that claim number to handle everything for you from that point forward, including dealing with the insurance appraiser and getting you a rental car, if need be.
PAYMENTS & WARRANTY
1) ARE MY REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY?
At Marina Auto Body, we offer a lifetime warranty on all of our repairs. Paint services are completed with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty.
2) WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, cash and insurance company checks.
3) WHO DO I PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE TO?
If your deductible is not waived, it will be your responsibility to pay Marina Auto Body when you pick up your vehicle.
4) DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE?
Your policy will reflect a deductible amount which is paid to Marina Auto Body at the time your vehicle is returned to you.
1) WHAT OTHER SERVICES CAN BE DONE WHILE MY VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP?
We can also provide glass and alignment services, if necessary. Please inform us of what you may need so we will be able to make the necessary arrangements.
2) WILL THE PAINT MATCH AFTER REPAIRS?
Marina Auto Body’s modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of highly specialized paints. We have made a major investment in the finest paint system available and constantly upgrade its technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle’s paint matches. We take special pride in our ability to match factory finishes as the final step in the repair process.
3) WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OEM, LKQ, aftermarket and QRP parts?
Industry jargon can be difficult to decipher. Here’s a quick breakdown of the differences. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are those made by the manufacturer of your vehicle. LKQ (Like Kind Quality) parts come from salvaged vehicles and are cleaned for use in auto repair. Aftermarket parts aren’t made by the manufacturer of your vehicle and are offered at lower cost than OEMs, but may not be the perfect match for your vehicle. They are also sometimes known as QRM parts (Quality Replacement Parts).
1) WHEN CAN I BRING MY CAR IN REPAIR?
We do our best to accommodate your needs. Give us a call, get a free estimate or schedule a repair at the location nearest you to begin the process.
2) HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO REPAIR MY CAR ONCE I DROP IT OFF?
We will give you an estimated completion date based on your car’s damage and repair needs from our initial assessment. Please keep in mind that we may need to adjust that anticipated date based on additional damage found while making repairs, or if we are waiting for details from your insurance company. Once your repair is started, our staff commits to keeping you updated on the process and you can also check your repair status online. If you ever have a question, contact us.
